About Paw Paw, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Paw Paw, Michigan is a village located in Van Buren County. It is also the county seat, and about 3,500 people lived here as of 2010. Paw Paw is located at the confluence of the south and east branches of the Paw Paw River, and it is only 20 miles west of Kalamazoo along Interstate 94. It is named for the papaw trees that previously grew on the Paw Paw River. This rural location is important for the state’s grape production, and the fruit is used for the production for jelly, juice, and local Michigan wine.

Despite the community’s small size, there are some interesting things to see and do here. Paw Paw’s role in the state’s wine industry is celebrated each year at the Wine and Harvest Festival, and during the warmer months, the village hosts a weekend farmers’ market. Bowling is available at Rainbow Lanes, and visitors who wish to hit the links can book a tee time at Heritage Glen Golf Club.

Varied weather conditions are part of what makes living in Paw Paw unique. High heat and humidity in the summer can lead to dangerous outdoor conditions. High temperatures often reach well into the 80s, although with significant humidity, it may feel even warmer. Residents rely on central air conditioning in order to keep cool and to improve indoor air quality by filtering out dust and allergens. Regular system maintenance with a licensed HVAC specialist will also ensure that cooling systems always run at peak performance.

The winter season can also be dangerous at times, as snowfall is common and thermostat readings plummet. Average daily high temperatures in January reach about 31 degrees Fahrenheit, which is below the freezing point. These chilly conditions coupled with frequent snowfall can lead to dangerous outdoor conditions, and the right climate controls are essential to stay warm indoors. Paw Paw residents need to be prepared with the right gas or electric furnace at home to keep temperatures comfortable.
