About South Haven, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

South Haven is a popular Michigan tourist destination. Located on Lake Michigan, the community is a port city known for its beaches and resorts. As of 2010, about 4,400 people lived here year-round, and people often call the community “The Catskills of the Midwest.” Famous botanist Liberty Hyde Bailey, who also founded the American Society for Horticultural Science, lived in South Haven during his childhood, and his home is now a museum.

There are many wonderful things to see and do in South Haven. Many attractions involve the outdoors, including North Beach, Van Buren State Bark, and the Kal Haven Trail. Many visitors enjoy a trip to the South Haven Lighthouses, and for some, a stop at the Michigan Maritime Museum is a necessity. There are several orchards located here, including Overhiser, McIntosh, and Bumbleberry Acres, and families with youngsters might like to take a trip to the Kids’ Corner Playground. The Michigan Flywheelers Museum also allows visitors to experience the life of early farmers.

South Haven residents need to be prepared for anything when it comes to the weather. During the winter season, thermostat readings will drop, and average highs stay in the low 30s during the peak of the season. Snowy conditions with the possibility for ice are also common, so the right gas or electric furnace can dramatically impact indoor safety and comfort levels. A licensed South Haven HVAC specialist can recommend the best system, and regular tune-ups can also avoid break downs during extremely cold temperatures.

The spring and autumn in South Haven are transitional seasons, and they book-end a hot, humid summer. July is the hottest month of the year, and average daily high temperatures reach about 85 degrees Fahrenheit. A central air conditioner with a high SEER rating will cool off indoor temperatures efficiently, and residents should see a savings on their monthly utility costs.
